bunny hat - done!

well, the bunny hat i mentioned in my previous post is done....here are pics of it pre-blocking (so please excuse the uneven-ness). i mentioned below that it was going to go to my niece along with the ribbon-edged cardigan. i lied. it was actually a birthday gift for justJENN but i couldn't lead on since she reads this blog. HA!! for those of you stitch snobs, check out her blog to see what it looks like after blocking and on an actual human head...hers. oh, and leave her comments about wearing it - i am trying to convince her to wear it on her first day of work next week.

almost there...

so i've finally gotten all the pieces to the ribbon edged cardigan done. last night i started the blocking process...

now that i've blocked all the pieces, i have to join the shoulder seams, pick up stitches and start working on the collar. then attach the sleeves, and sew the ribbon and buttons on. whew. with the ten-thousand other projects i am working on, i wonder how long that's going to take me?

oh, speaking of other projects, i've finally finished sleeve #1 of my cardigan (sans hood). i guess that is on the backburner of my non-urgent priority list since it's JUST for me.

also, iv'e started a striped version of the "bunny hat" that i am working on to send my niece with the ribbon edged cardigan...

little pumpkin finished

not a ton of knitting going on this last week for me, but i did manage to get a few more inches done on my cardigan sleeve #1, and got the little pumpkin done. this being my second project on DPNs, i think i really like working on them. i am starting to get the hang of working in the round and on multiple needles. now, only if i didn't live in southern california, i would be making myself tons of hats to go with all the scarves i've already made myself!!

luckily for my friends and family in cold places, i am addicted to knitting....

weekend update

it's been a busy weekend, knitting wise. between my singles and doubles tennis matches today (i finally won my first singles game...each match is made up of only one set, which consists of 6-13 possible games), i was able to bake some banana chocolate chip muffins, finish up baby hat #1 - the striped stocking cap, and start the little pumpkin. sheckem-ow:

baby hat #1 - the striped stocking cap. i have enough yarn to do probably 5 more hats like this. i'll be varying the color combos and probably the stripe widths so that they are all different. well, maybe fatten up the stripes so i don't have to sew in so many tails!! sheesh...

the little pumpkin. here's where i am so far. thank god the majority of this hat is one color. hahahahha. well, it's got a cute little stem and some leaves at the top.

and this is just to make your mouth water as you read this post. aren't i cruel....

what i'm working on

i've finally sat down and started on the slew of baby hats i want to do. actually, i started the night i came home with that stash, did a couple of color combos and frogged and frogged. i decided i didn't like the colorway combos i was putting together and had to go back to the LYS to get MORE colors. hahahaha. ugh. yeah....

today after my follow-up consultation at the laser eye center (i am going to do it) i sat down and started on baby hat #1.

it seems awfully small to me, since this is my first hat i am not sure how to judge it based on how it looks on the needles. i am following the pattern using the exact same brand and weight of yarn it suggests, on the suggested needle size. i guess i will see when i have more of it done.

amongst all the million projects i have swirling around my head (i really should just write them down) i've been chugging away slowly on my cardigan. hopefully i will be done by this winter. this is how far i've gotten on sleeve #1.

through all my knitting, look who's always watching, waiting for that ball of yarn to roll across the floor...

today's stash

ok, so would you say i went a little crazy at the LYS today?!?! but, it's time for me to start the bazillion baby things (including hats) that i want to knit for everyone who's poppin' them out this summer. gotta have 'em ready for the winter, especially for my friends and family in the midwest...
